UAW National Community Action Program Legislative Conference
Region 8 was well represented when more than 1,700 retired and active from across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico members gathered in our nation’s Capitol, Washington, DC February 26-March 1.
Delegates heard from President Obama on Tuesday and President Clinton on Thursday. Our political and .jpg) legislative priorities took center stage throughout the week as delegates heard from many great speakers and attended educational classes in the afternoon sessions on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday delegates took to Capitol Hill to meet with their members’ o f Congress.
Before departing for Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning Region 8 hosted a breakfast that featured Representatives Bennie Thompson, MS and Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, FL as our guest speakers.
This Legislative Conference was also monumental as Director Casteel welcomed our sisters and brothers from the state of Kentucky as members of Region 8, UAW.
