UAW Region 8 Announces Essay Contest Winners

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each graduating high school senior who entered the Region 8 UAW Community Action Program’s Scholarship Essay Contest.   Many outstanding essays were submitted this year. 

However, the judges had to narrow entries down to four (4) winners.

More than you will ever realize, we appreciate the time and effort that each applicant put into their essay.  Hopefully, in doing so, each have become a little more familiar with the labor movement.

We wish the best of luck to each in their future endeavors.

The winners are as follows:

            1^st                                             Landon D. Hollenshead, Fort Loudon, PA

                                                            James Buchanan High School

            2^nd                                            Gerald Huddleston, Fairfax, VA 

                                                            Chantilly High School

                                                            Will be attending Bridgewater College

                                                            Will be attending Lebanon Valley College

            4^th                                             Tawlyandra Renee Richardson, Lewisburg, TN

                                                            Will be attending University Tennessee at Martin
