Final Day of 2026 UAW Region 8
Standing Committee Conference

The final day if the 2026 UAW Region 8 Standing Committee Conference kicked off with the Director’s Breakfast. Delegates were treated to a set down breakfast followed by the Veteran’s Committee performing the missing man recognition.

Assistant Director George Palmer welcomed the delegates and introduced Director Tim Smith to give his conference address.

“You folks are the backbone of our union,” Director Smith stated. “Standing Committees are the introduction for union involvement for many of our members. The things you do in the locals and in the community make a difference for everyone. We are proud that eight of the thirteen official committees are represented here this week and we hope to continue to expand it.”
