Members At Local 42 Have Contract Rollout Meetings
Members at Local 42 at Volkswagen in Chattanooga, Tennessee had meetings on February 18 to rollout the proposed agreement. These meetings are held as informational meetings to give members a chance to get details information on what the language contained within the agreement. These meetings are important to give our members the information they need before voting on an agreement.
UAW Region 8 Director Tim Smith and Assistant Director George Palmer were on hand to join Retired UAW Vice President Chuck Browning to answer questions to the membership at Local 42.
Some of the details of this historic agreement include:
- 20% wage gains
- More affordable, higher quality health care
- Cost of living increases with profit sharing
- Protections against outsourcing, job cuts and favoritism
- Enforceable health and safety standards
- Clear grievance and discipline procedures
- $4000 signing bonus and annual $2550 bonus
Members will now vote on the contract. |
