UAW SWFL Retiree Council Meeting Planned November 10, 2026
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all our northern snow birds! We hope you had a very happy, healthy, safe and relaxing summer. We have many exciting items coming up in the next few months. We hope to see you at our meetings!
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. PLEASE NOTE! Our meeting place has been changed! Due to renovations being made at the Holiday Inn in Ft. Myers, we have had to make a change in our meeting venue. Meetings will now be held at the following venue: The Unity Church of Ft. Myers, 11120 Ranchette Road, Ft. Myers, FL 33966. This is only temporary until the renovations are finished at the Holiday Inn. This meeting and our December meeting will be held in the building adjacent to the smaller building we were in for our October meeting. Signs will be posted at the end of the driveway.
The Trust, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United HealthCare, Delta Dental, Optum Rx, and Tru-Hearing will be at the meeting with presentations. If you have any bills that you need assistance with, please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the meeting so that you can meet with either Joe, Jim, Cindy or any of the providers.
Joe Bigelow will also be speaking to you regarding the results of the elections for IAC.
We will be collecting clothing for the children of the Fellowship of Schools along with school supplies for them. Don't forget our toy drive for the Christmas party. Bring UNWRAPPED toys to our December Christmas party. Of course, monetary gifts are always welcomed.
Marlene Medar will again be speaking to the membership regarding our Christmas Party. Tickets are $10/each. There will be only 80 tickets available. The last day to purchase these tickets in person is the November meeting - November 10, 2026. You may also purchase tickets through the mail from Marlene. Dave Ramos will be playing Taps in honor of all our fallen brothers and sisters and in honor of our veterans still among us.
In order to assist our membership with any questions regarding our benefits and providers during the month, Jim Getts will be available one day a week - Thursdays - from 9 am to 12 pm.
