UAW and KMWU Sign Cooperation Agreement

UAW and KMWU sign historic agreement of cooperation and solidarity. “We’re building solidarity. We’re sharing strategies. We’re organizing together. We’re standing up for the working class— across borders, across oceans, across the world,” said UAW Region 8 Director Tim Smith at the press conference in Seoul, Korea today.

The Korean Metal Workers' Union (KMWU) is one of South Korea's major industrial unions, primarily representing workers in the metal and manufacturing sectors, including automobile, shipbuilding, steel, and machinery industries. The KMWU has a longstanding relationship with the UAW, especially due to shared concerns over companies like GM (General Motors) and Hyundai/Kia, which operate in both countries.
