UAW Local 967 Secures New Agreement,
Grows Strength at L3Harris

On June 28, 2025, UAW Region 8, Local 967's Production and Maintenance unit at L3Harris ratified a new three-year agreement. This contract brings an average 25% pay raise for all employees, plus improvements to jury service, bereavement, layoff protections, and other non-economic items. The 2025 Production and Maintenance Negotiation Committee included Joe Carroll, Keegan Raulston, Robert Gamboa, Kevin Bowers, and Wade Jones.

Since 1951, UAW Local 967 has represented production, support, and maintenance employees at Majors Field, TX. L3Harris, a major defense contractor, operates a Greenville, TX plant that performs heavy aircraft maintenance and modifications on military aircraft. This work supports missions ranging from close air support to reconnaissance and VIP transport. Representing more than 1,000 employees, UAW Local 967 plays a critical role in national defense. It's also active in collective bargaining, community outreach, member education, and broader UAW initiatives for fair labor practices and economic justice.

Further expanding the union's reach, L3Harris's full-time firefighters organized in December 2023, with 93% voting to join the UAW. These professionals provide round-the-clock fire support for aircraft ground and flight-testing, plus facility fire protection. By March 2025, they ratified their first agreement, securing pay raises, enhanced paid time off, and strong working conditions. Their work significantly boosts overall safety and efficiency at L3Harris.

-Robert Gamboa, President Local 967
