Local 3047 Makes Heartland Parade Debut
This past weekend was a milestone for UAW Local 3047 as we proudly took part in the Heartland Parade for the very first time. Our group showed up strong, with both longtime members and new faces walking side by side, some attending their very first union event.
We were honored to march alongside the Hardin County Democrats, a spot we secured thanks to the strong connections and community work we have built with them. Along the route, the support from the community was incredible. Everywhere we went, people clapped, cheered, and showed their appreciation for working families and the UAW.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was seeing a dream come true for our Financial Secretary, Shirley Bennett. She has always wanted to ride in a parade, and this year she finally did with her union family by her side.
The day was filled with unity, pride, and even a few four-legged friends who joined in the march. For Local 3047, this was not just a parade. It was proof of what happens when we show up together: we build visibility, community, and solidarity that will carry us forward.
In Solidarity,
