National Veterans Wheelchair Games To Be Held in Louisville July 11-16, 2019
This is the 1st year (in their 39 year history) that the National Veterans Wheelchair Games will be held in Louisville, KY. For those who are unaware, this is sort of like an Olympic games for veterans bound to wheelchairs due to spinal cord injuries, amputations, etc…and it’s a BIG DEAL!
Dates of the event are 11 July through 16 July….which is a Thursday through the following Tuesday.

They really need help with volunteers so I’m reaching out to my cherished vets here. Anyone can help. My wife and teen daughters are going to volunteer as well. Beautiful part about the opportunity is you can be as selective as you wish and pick the sports and time slots (and locations) that may interest you.
             · Roughly, half of the events will be held at the KY Convention Center downtown, and others are sprinkled around throughout the community...for example: golf will be at Quail Chase, bowling will be at Kingpin Lanes, races will be at Beckley Station Park, etc. Parking downtown can be a challenge, so please be patient as you find a parking spot.
             · Volunteers will be given t-shirts and $10 vouchers for lunch or dinner. There will be sign-in booths at the events to check into, and a quick orientation to what they need you to do.
             · When you register if you type in my name as a Group Leader or UAW Local 862 (as you see on the 1st page of the .pdf), I’ll be able to capture all who is volunteering.
             · See attached .pdf to see the list of events without clicking below.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. This is a solid chance to give a little back to the vets who have served and the local community.
             Sincerely,
             Eric
