UAW Local 1872 Strike Enters Week 6

UAW Local 1872 is currently on strike against Johnson Controls in York, Pennsylvania. Local 1872 President Michael Tawney stated the strike is to provide a better contract for the workers there in York. Entering week five of the strike, issues include wages, vacation time and overtime.

“Our brothers and sisters are 38 days in this strike,” states UAW Region 8 Assistant Director Tim Smith. “We are asking all Region 8 members to stand with these members as they are determined to last one day longer.”

UAW Region 8 is currently requesting those Region 8 members who can to assist our brothers and sisters at Local 1972. If you would like to join in the relief efforts for these members and their families, a fund has been established for them. Click this link for details on how to donate.
