Local 276 and Local 171 Celebrate
Rosie The Riveter Day

Local 276 in Arlington, Texas celebrated International Women’s History Month by recognizing Rosie The Riveter Day. The local recognizes this each year on March 21. “We celebrate Rosie the Riveter Day, a tribute to the six million women who stepped into America’s factories, shipyards, and assembly lines during World War II,” states Joint Activities Representative Mike Cartwright. “These trailblazing women took on jobs traditionally held by men, producing aircraft, vehicles, munitions, and vital war materials. Their work was essential to the Allied victory—and forever changed the American workforce.”

The celebration included many dressing up as Rosie The Riveter and drawings for merchandise for the participants. Happy International Women’s Day!
