Local 2195 Plans June Meeting
June 9, Monday 11:00 am
American Legion Post 15
Decatur, AL

Wow! We are surely having a rainy May and were close to breaking the all-time record.  So hopefully, the rain is slowing down.  A lot of the farmers and gardeners are having a hard time getting their crops planted.

Two insurance providers, BCBL SHEILD and UNITED HEALTHCARE, will be available at the meeting.  If you have a billing problem or just want to talk with one of the providers, this is always a good opportunity.

Remember, June is the last meeting of the Summer, and we will have as luncheon.  We will be providing the B,B.Q. and we ask the members to bring a covered dish, baked beans, potato salad. potato chips, slaw and or a dessert of your choice.
Our New Benefit, HRA (health reimbursement assistance).  We announced and explained at the last meeting, and it was a nice surprise.

$600. dollars, it is retroactive for bills and medical costs back to the first of the year, continuing through December 31, 2025.  We will attempt to answer any questions regarding this very nice new benefit.
The HRA benefit should not be confused with the OTC (over the counter) benefit, they are two separate improvements we have received.
These new benefits are fantastic;  They assist with healthcare costs for our Retirees,  proving once again that your union dues were not only a great benefit while you were actively working, but now even more important since you are retired.

THE OLD SAYING, IT DOESN'T COST, IT PAYS TO BE A UNION MEMBER.
Have you checked your GM pension statement to make sure you are paying your dues in retirement?
Three dollars ($3) per month or $36 a year is the cost of retiree dues.  We spend more than that on a good meal or a tank of gas.

Don't forget one major fact: these benefits are available to your serving spouse.  The dues dollars help provide continued assistance to the needs of our spouse after we have gained our wings.

Once again, Lynn Layton Chevrolet will provide the cost of our door-prizes.  If you get a chance a run into Lynn or Jeff, thank them for their long-time and continued support of our Retiree Chapter.  They would be happy to assist you with any of your new or used car needs.

I hope to see you at the meeting, stay safe.
In Solidarity,
Chuck McDonald, Chairman
