UAW Local 2195 December Meeting Planned

Retiree Meeting Monday, December 8, 2025
11:00 am
Post 15 American Legion 6th Ave.
Decatur, AL

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family, friends, and good food.

Our Christmas luncheon will be held at this December's meeting.  We hope you will come and join us and enjoy the food and fellowship.  We would appreciate it if you could bring a cover dish of your choice or a dessert.

The Retiree Chapter will furnish the meat, Turkey, and Ham along with the bread, cranberry sauce.  Our drinks will be sweet or unsweetened tea, coffee, and water.  If you desire something different, you might want to bring it with you.

We will not have our health care providers at this meeting.

Our policy on meeting cancellations is; if the Decatur City School and Morgan County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, our meeting will be cancelled.

We are pleased that most of our members have received their $500. Christmas Bonus.

We are well aware that we still have an outstanding issue where a number of our members didn't receive the bonus.  This issue is an outstanding grievance between the UAW and General Motors Corporation.  At this point, the Company continues to refuse to pay the bonus to the employees who retired under the Delphi Agreement.  That period had a December 31, 1999, cut-off for retiring or filing a transfer to another General Motors facility under contract and remaining a General Motors employee.  Delphi filed for bankruptcy in 2005. The subsequent negotiation required General Motors to provide employees who were still working at Delphi another opportunity to transfer to another General Motors facility or retire as a General Motors Retiree.

The Company initially refused to pay any of these former Delphi employees.  Through tough negotiations, the Company finally agreed to pay the bonus to the employees who retired under the 2006 agreement.  Unfortunately, the Company continues to refuse to pay those who retired under the Delphi Agreement, this was explained at the beginning of this overview.  The battle continues for those members and spouses who have been unjustly denied the bonus.  This is the UAW position, and they remain hopeful to reaching a favorable resolution with this issue in the future.

There remain questions about our $600. HCR benefit. (Health Care Reimbursement).
We will talk about these problems at the meeting. If we can help you, we will attempt to resolve your problem you may have.

You need to have a cell phone and email address if you want me to help you fill out the forms online and assist you with getting your STATEMENT OF EARNING Through THE SOCIAL SECURITY,  WEBPAGE.

Hope to see you at the meeting.
In solidarity.
